RESOLUTION NO. 81 - 83
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ENDORSING THE
GILROY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT'S REOllliST REGARDING }fflD-FLY SPRAY
SCHEDULE IN SOUTH SANTA CLAP~ COtlliTY.
WHEREAS, the Med-F1y Spraying Program in South Santa Clara
County has been scheduled during the school hours; and
HHEREAS, local children are either waiting for school huses
or are on school playgrounds during said spraying; and
WHEREAS, the Gilroy City Council strongly objects to this
spraying schedule.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Gilroy City Council
endorses the Gilroy Unified School District's efforts in attempting
to reschedule the Med-F1y Spraying Program and stron1y urges the
Governor and/or State Legislators to grant the School District's
request and spray specifically during the night or on week-ends
when the majority of local residents have the opportunity to protect
their children, pets and vehicles.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of September, 1981, by the
