RESOLUTION NO. 81 - 85
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL O~ TH~ CITY OF GILROY ACKNOHLEDGING
EXECUTION OF JOINT EXERCISE OF POWE~S AGREE~NT AND COO?ERATION AGR~E-
MENT PURSUANT TO TITLE I OF THE HOUSI~G Al'JD COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT
OF 1974, AS AMENDED.
WHEREAS, in 1974 the United States Congress enacted the
Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, herein called Act; and
~\1HEREAS, Title I of the Act allows lTrban r;oun ties to receive
Community Deve10Dment Block Grants where such counties enter into a
Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement and Coogeration Agreement with
non-entitlement cities to qualify as an 1Jrban County apn1icant under
the Act; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy 'tV'ishes to enter into such an
agreement with the County of Santa Clara to qualify such County as an
Urban County and to receive Housinv and Community neve10pment funds
thereby.
NQT,.J, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Gilroy anproves the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement and
Cooperation Agreement with the County of Santa Clara.
BE IT H"U~.THER RESOLVEn that the ~-fayor is authorized to
execute said Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement and Cooperative Agree-
ment on behalf of the City of Gilroy.

of the City of Gilroy this 21st day of September, 1981, by the fo1-
