RESOLUTION NO. 82 - 53
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY RELATIVE TO HEIGHBORHOOD
HATCH MONTH.
vffiEREAS, California Department of Justice statistics reveal that
more than one million serious crimes occur in California each year; and
WHEREAS, it is the duty of all citizens and institutions to assist
in protecting themselves and others from crime; and
WHEREAS, Neighborhood Watch programs develop an informed and
involved public who help themselves and other avoid becoming crime victims.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Gilroy City Council that the
City of Gilroy, in recognition of the value of the Neighborhood Watch
Program, joins the California State Legislature in proclaiming the month
of April, 1982 as Neighborhood Watch Month.
