RESOLUTION NO. 82-79
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY PURSUANT TODIREC'IION BY SANTA CLARA COUNTY
LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION WITH REGARD TOA
REORGANIZATION PURSUANT TO THE DISTRICT REORGANIZATION
ACT OF 1965 DESIGNATED AS CHESTNUT STREET 81-7
~ OF THE CITY OF GILROY.
BE IT RESOLVED AND FOUND BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GILROY, as follows:
1. That the Santa Clara County Local Agency Formation
Commission, in accordance with the District Reorganization Act
of 1965, has done all things as indicated in its Resolution
N 82-25.

2. That the City of Gilroy was duly designated the con-
ducting agency for further proceedings to reorganize the territory
described in said Resolution No.82-25 and Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and incorporated herein.
3. That the City Council, as conducting agency, has also
duly performed the following:
a. The Council has initiated and completed reorgani-
zation proceedings.
b. This proceeding for reorganization is designated
as CHESTNUT STREET 81-7.
c. The territory described in Exhibit "A" hereto is
ordered reorganized and is organized to include
the following changes of organization:
i. Annexation to the City of Gilroy,
ii. Detachment from the South Santa
Clara County Fire District.
d. The City of Gilroy, as conducting agency, reorganized
such territory as indicated above without notice of
hearing and without election, it being found and

\ concurred in that the territory described
in Exhibit "A" is uninhabited.
4. That the herein described reorganization and each
of the actions of the City of Gilroy herein described were in
full accordance with the District Reorganization Act of 1965.
Government Code Section 56322 which is part thereof. and the
terms and conditions set forth in Resolution No. 82-25 of the
Santa Clara County Local Agency Formation Commission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of May, 1982,
by the following vote:

EXHIBIT "A"
DESCRIPTION OF "CHESTNUT STREET ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF GILROY 81-7"
BEING a portion of Ranch Lot 47 as shown on Map No. 7 accompanying the
Final Report of the Referees in the Las Animas Rancho Partition Suit,
Action No. 5536 had in the Superior Court of the State of California,
in and for the County of Santa. Clara, and as shown on Record of Survey
Map filed for Record in Book 69 of Maps at page 17, Records of Santa
Clara County, and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the most easterly corner of "South Chestnut
Street Annexation 83-4 to the City of Gilroy" as described
in Ordinance No. 981 of said City adopted May 7, 1973,
being in the northerly line of "Fourth Southern Addition
to the City of Gilroy" as described in Resolution No. 896
of said City adopted March 3, 1965, and running thence
along the easterly line of said "South Chestnut Street
Annexation 73-4" N.1L.o.45'18"W. 80.54 feet and N.3000'18"W.
683.86 feet to the most northerly corner thereof in the
westerly line of Ranch Lot 47, being also in the easterly
line of "'Southeast Annexation 65-1 to the City of Gilroy"
as described in Resolution 936 of said City adopted June 9,
1965. thence along said easterly line and the westerly line
'of Ranch Lot 47 N.Oo12'32"E. 252.80 feet to the northwesterly
corner of Ranchlot 47; thence along the northerly line of
Ranch Lot 47 and a southerly line of said "Southeast Annexation
65-1" S.89047'40''E. 52.80 feet to a corner common to said
Annexation and "South Chestnut Street Annexation 77-1 to the
City of Gilroy" as described in Ordinance No. 77-19 of said
City adopted June 6, 1977; thence continuing along the south-
erly line of said "South Chestnut Street Annexation 77-1"
and the northerly line of Ranch Lot 47 S.89047'40"E.
928.05 feet to the southeasterly corner of said Annexation
in the westerly line of the State Highway (101 Freeway) as
described in the Deed to the State of California recorded in
Book 8699 at page 285, Official Records of Santa Clara County;
thence southerly along said westerly line along a curve to
the ri~ht with a radius of 2930.00 feet, from a tangent bearing
of S.5 16'28"W., through a central angle of 3051'45" for a
distance of 197.63 feet; thence S.9007'44'~. 800.09 feet to the
intersection thereof with the northerly line of lands of the
Santa Clara Valley "-'a'ter Dis trict as described in Deed recorded
in Volume 5192 at page 6, Official Records of Santa Clara County;
thence continuing along said westerly Highway Line S.oolO'55"W.
27.50 feet to a point in the southerly line of said Water
District Lands, being also in the northerly line of said "Fourth
Southern Addition to the City of Gilroy"; thence along said
northerly line and the southerly line of said Water District
Lands N.89049'll'~. 777.69 feet to the point of beginning, and
CONTAINING THEREIN 20.747 acres.
