P~SOLUTION NO. 82 - 102
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DECLARING THAT
CITY SHALL COMPLETE ADDITIONAL PERCOLATION PONDS .AT THE CITY'S
WASTEWATER TREATI1ENT FACILITY BY USING CITY DAY LABOR AND OPEN
MA!.:l~KET PURCHASING IrJITHOUT BIDDING.
\mEREAS, the City wishes to complete a series of percolation
ponds upon approximately fifty (50) acres of land (knovm as the
Walden Property) at the wastewater treatment facility site in the
most economical way possible; and
WHEREAS, this can best be accomplished through the use of
existing City forces; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that project costs can be re-
duced by using City force account materials and labor on the
project.
NOVI, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Gi1rov that the City shall complete these earthwork levees

without further complying with Section 1109 of the City Charter
pertaining to bidding on contracts for public projects.
