RESOLUTION NO. 84 - 17 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ADOPTING UNIFORH PLUHBING, l-!ECHANICAL, ADEINISTR...A3IVE, HOUSING, AND ABATEllliNT CODES, 1982 EDITIONS, WITH 110DIFICATIONS. 't\1-IEREAS, Section 6.1 of the Gilroy City Code provides that the latest edition of Uniform Construction Codes shall be submitted to the Council to become effective within the City upon approval by resolution, subject to possible modifications and amendme~ts; and v~T.EREAS, 1982 Editions of various Uniform Construction Codes have been submitted with some modifications and amendments and recoTImended by the Chief Building Inspector for Council approval as set forth below. NO\~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY that the following codes, ,with the modifications set forth, are adopted and shall apply to all construction in the City of Gilroy; UNIFORM PLUHBING CODE The Uniform Plumbing Code, 1982 Edition, is adopted with the following amendments: 1. Delete Section 20.3, Violations and penalties and substitute therefor: Violations and penalties shall be as stated in the Gilroy City Code. 2. Section 1004, delete the reference to type PB plastic piping and the reference to installation within a building. UNIFORH HECHANICAL CODE The Uniform Hechanical Code, 1982 Edition, is adopted. UNIFORM ADNINISTRATIVE CODE The Uniform Administrative Code. 1982 Edition, is adopted with the following amendments: 1. Section 301(b)-1-b is deleted. 2. Section 303(d) is amended by adding the following paragraphs: Every permit issued by the Building Official under the pro- visions of the technical codes shall expire by limitations and become null and void after one (1) year from date of issuance of said permit. If the building is under construc- tion, before work can continue, a new permit shall be first obtained and the fee therefor shall be one-half (~) of the Building Permit fee for the original permit, provided no changes have been made in the original plans. The Chief Building Inspector may require that all work done after one year from the date of original permit shall comply with the latest technical or City of Gilroy codes. 3. In addition to the fees in Table 3A through 3F of the Uniform Administrative Code, the following fees shall apply and be charged where applicable to off-set actual cost to the City for the following services: TABLE NO. 3-G--FIRE DEPARTHENT 1) Building Plan Check Fee A Fire Department fee equal to 10% of the fee set forth in Section 304(b). - 2) Sprinkler System and Chemical Handling Systems Review Fee A Fire Department fee equal to the fees set forth in Sec- tion 304(a) and (b), plus 10% thereof to the Division of Building Inspection for related services. TABLE 3-H--DIVISION OF BUILDING INSPECTION 2) Supplemental Review and Inspection Fee for Other than New Construction. For remodeling, renovation, structure moving and other such construction other than new construction, the fees shall be two times the fees set forth in Section 304(a) and (b). Applicable to R-3 & H occupancies only. 2) Microfilm Fee A fee of $5.00 per sheet for commercial, industrial and apartments. TABLE 3-1--PARKS AND RECREATION DEPART~lliNT 1) Landscape Plan Check Fee A fee equal to 2.1 times the hours required times the top hourly pay of a park supervisor. UNIFORM HOUSING CODE The Uniform Housing Code, 1982 Edition, is adopted. UNIFORH ABATEHENT CODE The Uniform Code for the abatement of Dangerous Buildings. 1982 Edition, is adopted. That Resolutions 80-29, 80-60, 80-90, 81-17 and 82-16 are hereby rescinded. That a copy of this Resolution be kept in the office of the City Engineer for examination by interested persons.
