RESOLUTION NO. 84 - 31
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY CERTIFYING COM-
PLIANCE WITH THE REOUIRE}lliNTS OF HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SECTION
52080 AS AllliNDED BY 'ASSEMBLY BILL 55.
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City as stated in the
General Plan and Residential Development Ordinance, to provide low
cost housing; and
~~EREAS, the Council of the City of Gilroy has considered
opportunities to effect cost savings in connection with the process-
ing of the American Development Company multi-family apartment project
which contains a percentage of such low cost housing; and
~~EREAS, these opportunities include the rezoning of this
project from R-3 PUD to R-4 PUD to allow an increase in density; and
w~EREAS, the City revised the Zoning Ordinance in 1983 to
allow the Planning Director to review and decide applications for
architectural and site approval, thus expediting the processing
procedure; and
WHEREAS, this project is in a Planned Unit Development
Combining District which allows diversification while insuring ade-
quate standards for yard, building height and lot coverage require-
ments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Gilroy has complied with the requirement of Health and Safety Code
Section 52080 which requires the City to consider opportunities to
effect cost savings in connection with the processing of multi-family
rental housing development.
