RESOLUTION NO. 84 - 71
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY APPROVING THE
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE STATE BOND ACT OF 1984 PROG~iJ.
OF THE CALIFORNIA PARK AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES ACT OF 1984 FOR
LAS ANlt~S PARK ADDITION.
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted
the California Park and Recreational Facilities Act of 1984, which
provides funds to the State of California and its political subdivi-
sions for developing facilities for public recreational purposes; and
vffiEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has
been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the
prograrrl within the state, setting up necessary procedures governing
application by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department
of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolu-
tion the approval or applications before submission of said applica-
tions to the state; and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the ap-
plicant must comply with; and
WHEREAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agreement
with the State of California for development rehabilitation or res-
toration of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for 1984 state
grant assistance for the above project; and
2. Certifies that said agency understands the assurances
and certification in the application; and
3. Certifies tnat said agency has or will have sufficient
funds to operate and maintain the project, and if the
project is'selected for state grant funding; and
4. Certifies that said organization will provide construc-
tion plans and specifications to the state within one
year of the appropriation of funds under this program
and will commence work immediately after state approval;
and

5. Appoints the Parks and Recreation Director as agent of
the City of Gilroy to conduct all negotiations, execute
and submit all documents including but not limited to ap-
plications, agreements, amendments, payment requests, and
so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the
aforementioned project.
