RESOLUTION NO. 85 - 6
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY UNDER
CITY CODE SECTION 6.1 Al.ffiNDING TI-lE UNIFORM ADMINISTRA-
TIVE CODE AND THE UNIFORt1 PLU~ffiING CODE AS IT APPLIES
IN THE CITY OF GILROY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
upon the recommendation of the Chief Building Inspector that the
Uniform Administrative Code and the Uniform Plumbing Code, as it
applies in the City of Gilroy shall be amended as follows:
UNIFORM ADMINISTRATIVE CODE:
1. Addition to Section 301 (a). Permits are also required
for retaining walls.
2. Delete Section 301 (b) l-(e), retaining walls not over
four feet in height.
UNIFORH PLm'1BING CODE:
1. Section 203 (d), is amended by deleting the exception
at the end of the paragraph and substituting therefore:
Type M copper water piping shall not be used.
2. Section 1004 (a), is amended by adding the following
paragraph:
Copper water plplng and galvanized water plplng
shall not be installed beneath a concrete slab.
3. Section 1008 (c). Delete the reference to water piping
beneath a slab.
4. Addition to Section 1009 (a).
A minimum one inch water line shall be run through the
house off of which lateral lines would serve the various
fixtures. This one inch line to terminate in a hose bib
at the rear of house. This applies to residential single
family only.
That Resolution No. 84-17 adopting the Uniform Administrative
Code and the Uniform Plumbing Code shall remain in full force and
effect and that a copy of this resolution be kept in the office of

the City Engineer for examination by interested persons.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of January, 1985, by the
