RESOLUTION NO. 85-30
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL REQUESTING APPROVAL OF THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION DIVISION
OF HIGHWAYS TO PERMIT PARADES WITHIN THE CITY OF GILROY FROM
TIME TO TIME ON STATE ROUTE 152.
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy desires to hold parades
from time to time in the City which often include portions of
First Street (State Highway 152), and
WHEREAS, the Gilroy Chief of Police shall assume
the responsibility of traffic control during all such events;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council shall approve all parades
and routings, and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police shall notify the
Department of Transportation of all such parades in advance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of
Gilroy hereby and ~espectfully requests the p~rmission of the
State of California, Department of Transportation, Division
of Highways, to allow the following annual parades along portions
of State Highway 152 in the City of Gilroy, until further
resolution of council:
I.F.D.E.S. Holy Spirit Parade
Bonanza Days Junior Parade
Bonanza Days Senior Parade
Our Lady of Fatima Parade
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of May 1985, by the
