RESOLUTION NO. 85 - 54
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
IN }illMORY OF RETIRED MAYOR NORt1AN B. GOODRICH
WHEREAS, NOR~AN B. GOODRICH, retired Mayor of the City of Gilroy
died on the 20th day of August, 1985 in the City of Gilroy, County of
Santa Clara, State of California; and
WHEREAS, the said Norman B. Goodrich, served the City as Council-
man and Mayor for a period of twenty-three years (1960-1983); and
WHEREAS, it was through Mayor Goodrich's outstanding leadership
and successful efforts that this con1ffiunity grew to a prosperous pro-
gressive city; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Council deem it fitting and proper
that special recognition be made herein of the services rendered the
City of Gilroy by one who faithfully performed his public duty and
was in addition a highly respected citizen always interested in the
progress and welfare of the City and ready to help therein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in the death of said Norman
B. Goodrich, the City of Gilroy has lost a public servant who during
his long term of public office served the City loyally, capably and
well; and that his family, relatives and friends have lost a devoted
husband, parent and counselor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution duly certified by
the City Clerk of the City of Gilroy, be delivered to the surviving
wife and family of said Norman B. Goodrich.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of September, 1985, by the
following vote:
