RESOLUTION NO. 86-42
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE A TRIANGULAR PORTION OF
THE RIGHT OF WAY ON THE EAST SIDE OF CHESTNUT STREET, SOUTH
OF ITS INTERSECTION WITH BANES LANE MEASURING 14 FEET BY
252 FEET
WHEREAS, a triangular portion of the right of way
on the east side of Chestnut Street, south of its intersection
with Banes Lane measuring 14 feet by 252 feet is unnecessary
for present or prospective public purposes and should be vacated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of
the City of Gilroy that it does hereby declare its intention
to vacate a triangular portion of the right of way on the east
side of Chestnut Street, south of its intersection with Banes
Lane measuring 14 feet by 252 feet as is precisely shown on a
map on file in the Department of Public Works.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall be
published and said right of way posted as required in the
Public Streets, Highways, and Service Easements Vacation Law
under which this proceeding is instituted; and 8:00 o'clock
p.m., August 18, 1986, in the Council Chambers, City Hall,
7351 Rosanna Street, Gilroy, California, is hereby designated as
the time and place at which said City Council shall hear any and
all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation.
One publication of said notice shall be made in the
Gilroy Dispatch, a newspaper published in the City of Gilroy, at
a date at least ten (10) days prior to the time of hearing.
