Resolution 1987-50 ...... - - "_a WHEREAS , WHEREAS , WHEREAS , WHEREAS , WHEREAS , WHEREAS . WHEREAS , WHEREAS , WHEREAS , . . RESOLUTION NO. 87 - 50 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF G IUOY HONORIN; WILLIAM E. AYER DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION William E. "Bill" Ayer, has served the City of Gilroy exceedingly well as Parks and Recreation Director for nearly two decades; and Bill will be leaving the City of Gilroy on July 1, 1987 and; Bill has always performed his duties conscientiously, honestly and in the best interests of the City of Gilroy; and Bill has worked unceasingly to provide extensive and varied recreational opportunities for the youth and adults of this community; and Bill has initiated City beautification projects; and the City has been designated Tree City USA for the last eight years; and under Bill's leadership the City of Gilroy has constructed numerous prize winning parks, enhancing Gilroy's reputation as a beautiful city; and because of his talent for future planning development of parks and recreational facilities has kept up with City growth; and it is without a doubt that his expertise and vision in park development and recreational activities will be sorely missed by his fellow employees and the entire community; and as a City employee, husband, father, and participant in service and charitable organizations, particularly The Gilroy Garlic Festival Association and The Gilroy Foundation, Bill has enriched community life in Gilroy; and the Gilroy City Council desires to take this opportunity to honor WILLIAM E. "BILL" AYER to show their appreciation and recognition for his contributions that have made the Gilroy Parks and Recreation System the world acclaimed department that it is. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the members of the Gilroy City Council deem it fitting and proper that special recognition be made herein of the services rendered the entire City of Gilroy by one who faithfully performed his public duty and as highly respected citizen, always interested in the progress and the welfare of the endeavors.
