RESOLUTION NO. 88 - 26
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY APPROVING 1988 AMENDMENT TO THE
SANTA CLARA COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN TO ESTABLISH A PROCEDURE FOR REVIEW
AND APPROVAL OF REQUESTS TO DISPOSE OF NONHAZARDOUS SOLID WASTE GENERATED OUTSIDE
SANTA CLARA COUNTY AT SOLID WASTE FACILITIES LOCATED IN SANTA CLARA COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously concurred in the principles
and Ilbjectives of the Solid Waste Management Plan for Santa Clara County; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Intergovernmental Council has
requested that this city consider amending the Plan to include the Policy on Out-
of-County Solid Waste in the Solid Waste Management Plan for Santa Clara County;
and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara has
heretofore adopted a Negative Declaration under the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA) in connection with said proposed Revision; and approved the
amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Gilroy hereby finds and determines as
follows:
1. The City of Gilroy as a responsible agency considered the
environmental effects of the proposed Amendment as shown in the
Nagative Declaration.
2. The 1988 Amendment to the Santa Clara County Solid Waste
Management Plan to Establish a Procedure for Review and Approval
of Requests to Dispose of Nonhazardous Solid Waste Generated
Outside Santa Clara County at Solid Waste Facilities Located in
Santa Clara County is approved.
3. Concurrence in the principles and objectives of the said Plan is
reaffirmed.
4. The City Clerk is directed to forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the IGC Solid Waste Committee for Santa Clara
County, c/o Robert L. Sturdivant, Chief Planning Officer, County
Government Center, 70 West Hedding Street, 7th Floor, East Wing,
San Jose, CA 95110.

regular meeting held on the 2nd day of May, 1988, by the following vote:
