RESOLUTION NO, 88...35
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY OPPOSING THE PROPOSED MARTIN GENERAL
PLAN AMENDMENT BY SANTA CLARA COUNTY
WHEREAS, after study of the proposed Martin General
Plan Amendment (County File #2562-73-27-85 GP) by the City
Planning Department and based on their report, and
WHEREAS, the impact of increased traffic volumes
on Masten Avenue has not been adequately addressed andt
WHEREASt improperly planned commercial development
might constrict Masten Avenue from its expected ultimate
six-lane width, and
WHEREAS, wastewater package treatment systems
constitute a continuing threat to groundwater quality, and
the Gilroy-Morgan Hill sewage treatment plant has no capacity
available for any unincorporated area development, and
WHEREAS, no provision has been made for potential
flooding of the area from commercial development,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of
the City of Gilroy opposes the proposed Martin General Plan
Amendment (County File #2562-73-27-85 GP).
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of May 1988, by the
