RESOLUTION NO. 89 - 31
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ACKNOWLEDGING EXECUTION OF
COUNTY/CITY SUBGRANTEE CONTRACT FOR THE 15TH PROGRAM YEAR PURSUANT TO TITLE I OF
THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974, AS AMENDED.
WHEREAS, in 1974 the United States Congress enacted the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974, herein called Act; and
WHEREAS, Title I of the Act allows Urban Counties to receive Community
Development Block Grant where such counties enter into a Joint Exercise of Powers
Agreement and cooperative Agreement with non-entitlement cities to qualify as an
Urban County applicant under the Act; and
WHEREAS, Cities and subgrantees of the County of Santa Clara under the
existing Joint Powers Agreement, must annually enter into a Third Party Agreement
with the County of Santa Clara pior to disbursement of Housing and Community
Development funds thereby.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Gilroy approves the County/City Contract for the 15th Year Program with the County
of Santa Clara
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Administrator is authorized to
execute the County/City Contract for the 15th Year Program on behalf of the City of
Gilroy.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Gilroy this 19th day of June, 1989, by the following vote:

NOES:
COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT:
COUNCILMEMBERS: HALE and KLOECKER.
