RESOLUTION NO. 90 - 21
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY HONORING AND COHHENDING SERVICES OF
RICHARD L. COX
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Richard L. "Dick" Cox, has served the City of Gilroy
exceedingly well as Director of Public Works for over two decades; and
WHEREAS, Dick has declared to retire from the City of Gilroy on April
26, 1990; and
WHEREAS, Dick has served as an employee in the Department of Public
Works since September 15, 1967; and
WHEREAS, Dick has always performed his duties conscientiously, honestly
and in the best interests of the City of Gilroy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to honor Richard L. Cox for his
contributions and achievements both in leadership and professional abilities and to
the best interest of the City and community; and
WHEREAS, Richard L. "Dick" Cox has faithfully and energetically served
the City of Gilroy for the betterment of our community and all citizens of Gilroy;
and
WHEREAS, the Gilroy City Council desires to take this opportunity to
commend Richard L. Cox's outstanding conscientious, dedicated, loyal service to his
colleagues, fellow citizens, community and the American way of life during his
tenure with the City of Gilroy.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the members of the Gilroy City
Council deem it fitting and proper that special recognition be made herein of the
services rendered the entire City of Gilroy by one who faithfully performed his
public duty and as highly respected citizen, always interested in the progress and
the welfare of the City, thank Richard L. Cox who will be sorely missed and wish
him and his family continued success and happiness in all of their future
endeavors.
