RESOLUTION NO. 90-32
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0F GILROY
ESTABLISHING A LIBRARY TRUST FUND
WHEREAS, the City Administrator has recommended that the
principal of One Hundred Thirty Seven Thousand ($137,000.00)
Dollars remaining as surplus after construction and equipping the
City Library be set aside as a trust fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Gilroy approves and establishes the Library Trust Fund to
enhance library services and programs which traditionally the
City of Gilroy or Santa Clara County have not funded. Through
planning, this fund will be a real asset in providing additional
library opportunities for the community under the following
conditions:
1. Only the interest earned off the principal of One
Hundred Thirty Seven Thousand ($137,000.00) Dollars may be
utilized.
2. Funds are under the supervision and administration of
the Parks and Recreation Director who will consult with the
Library and Culture Commission as to authorization for spending.
3. Funds are to be utilized only for library services and
programs.
4. Funds are to be expended for non-traditional library
services and programs; i.e., extension of library hours,
additional funding for adult reading program, purchasing of Easy
Net informational computer services, and unique reference
materials such as Spanish language encyclopedia, etc. These
funds are not to be used to replace monies or programs which have
been deleted from the County budget.
S. This fund is not to be used for capital expenditures.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of June, 1990, by the

hereby certify that the attached Resolution No. 90-32 is an original
