RESOLUTION NO.90-36
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
ADOPTING PROCEDURES FOR OBTAINING CERTIFICATION FROM
POST FOR THE PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Assistant Chief of Police has recommended
adoption of Penal Code requirements for public safety
dispatchers to apply in the City of Gilroy, and good cause
appearing therefor,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Gilroy approves the following provisions of the
Penal Code to apply in the City of Gilroy;
Section 1. The City of Gilroy declares that it desires
to qualify to receive aid from the State of California under
the provisions of Section 13522, Chapter 1, of Title 4, Part
4, of the California Penal Code.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 13510 (c), Chapter 1,
the Gilroy Police Department, Communications Center will
adhere to standards for recruitment and training established
by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and
Training (POST).
Section 3. Pursuant to Section 13512, Chapter 1, the
Commission and its representatives may make such inquires as
deemed appropriate by the Commission to ascertain that the
Gilroy Police Department, Communications Center's public
safety dispatcher personnel adhere to standards for
selection and training established by the Commission on
Peace Officer Standards and Training.
