Resolution 1990-54 '. . . ~ RESOLUTION NO. 90-54 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY CALLING A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF GILROY ON NOVEMBER 6, 1990; REQUESTING SERVICES OF REGISTRAR OF VOTERS; REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION OF ELECTIONS A1~D SPECIFYING CERTAIN PROCEDURES FOR THE CONSOLIDATED ELECTION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. A special municipal election is hereby called to be held in the City of Gilroy, to be consolidated with the State of California primary election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 1990, to submit to the qualified electors of the City the following question: CITY OF GILROY MEASURE May private sponsors, with state, federal, and/or local financial assistance, develop, construct, or acquire up to 150 units of low rent housing for elderly, handicapped, or other households on the Wheeler Hospital site, located between Fifth Street, Carmel Street, Sixth Street, and Princeval1e Street? Section 2. The City Clerk shall give notice of the said election in accordance with law and to perform all other acts which are required for the holding and conducting of the said election. RESOLUTION NO. 90-54 -1- ,.. . . Section 3. The Board of Supervisors of the County is hereby requested to order the consolidation of the municipal election with the primary election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 1990, insofar as the City is concerned, and to further provide that within the City, the election precincts, polling places and voting booths shall in every case be the same, and there shall be only one set of election officers in each of said precincts, and to further provide that the question set forth above shall be set forth in each form of ballot to be used at said election insofar as the same is held within the City. The Board of Supervisors of the County is further requested to order the Registrar of Voters of the County to set forth on all ballots relating to said consolidated election the question set forth above in the manner provided by law. Section 4. The Registrar of Voters is hereby authorized to canvass, or cause to be canvassed., as provided by law, the returns of said municipal election with respect to the votes cast for and against said question and to certify such canvass of the votes cast to the Council. Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to certify to the due adoption of this resolution and to transmit a copy hereof so certified to the Board of Supervisors of the RESOLUTION NO. 90-54 -2- ~. . . ~ County and to file a copy hereof so certified with the County Clerk and Registrar of Voters of the County.
