RESOLUTION NO. 90 - 83
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AME~~ING THE UNIFORM BUILDING AND
PLUMBING CODES, 1988 EDITIONS
WHEREAS, Section 6.1 of the Gilroy City Code provides that the latest
edition of the Uniform Construction Codes shall be submitted to the Council to
become effective within the City upon approval by resolution, subject to possible
modifications and amendments' and
WHEREAS, the 1988 Edition of the Uniform Building and the Uniform
Plumbing Code have been submitted with some modifications and amendments and
recommended by the Chief Building Official for Council approval as set forth in
Resolution No. 89-70.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY that
the following modifications to the construction codes as set forth are adopted and
shall apply to all construction in the City of Gilroy:
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE
Delete the reference to "fire resistive roof covering" in Section 3202 D
and add the words noncombustible roof cov~ring.
UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE
Add the following sentence to Section 318 (b) 6: The test for copper
water piping shall be 100 pounds per square inch.
That a copy of this resolution be kept in the office of the City Engineer
for examination by interested persons.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of December, 1990, by the following
vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: GAGE, HALE, KLOECKER, MUSSALLEM, NELSON, VALDEZ
and HUGHAN.
