RESOLUTION NO. 91-56
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY ADOPTING A VISION STATEMENT FOR THE
ARTS IN SANTA CLARA COUNTY
WHEREAS, the City Connect Program of the Santa Clara County Arts
Council requested that the cities in Santa Clara County adopt a Vision
Statement for the Arts; and
WHEREAS, the Library and Culture Commission of the City of Gilroy
unanimously voted to recommend that the City Council adopt the county-wide
Vision Statement at its meeting of May 14, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed the Vision Statement at its meeting
of September 3, 1991.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. The City Council of the City of Gilroy hereby adopts the following
Vision Statement for the Arts in Santa Clara County:
"We commit ourselves to a Santa Clara Valley where the
Arts freely express our innovative spirit, celebrate our
rich cultural diversity, and inspire individual and
community participation."
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of September, 1991, by the following
vote:
AYES:
COUNCILMEMBERS: GAGE, HALE, KLOECKER, VALDEZ and HUGHAN.
NOES:
COUNCILMEMBERS: NELSON.
ABSENT:
COUNCILMEMBER: MUSSALLEM.
