RESOLUTION NO. 91 - 64
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY CONSENTING TO INCLUSION OF THE
TERRITORY OF THE CITY IN THE FORMATION OF THE COUNTY SERVICE AREA TO BE ESTABLISHED
FOR THE PROVISION OF ANIMAL CONTROL.
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Santa Clara County is preparing an
application to the Local Agency Formation Commission for the creation of a County
Service Area for Animal Control Services; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has requested each city council to adopt
a resolution of consent for inclusion of its territory in the formation of the
County Service Area pursuant to Section 25210.10(a) of the Government Code; and
WHEREAS, this City Council finds that the public health, safety and welfare
of its constituency will be promoted by participating in the proposed County
Service Area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT this City Council approves and consents
to the inclusion of all of the incorporated territory of the City in the formation
of the County Service Area to be established for the provision of enhanced animal
control services and the eventual construction of an Animal Shelter; and directs
the City Clerk to file certified copies of this Resolution with the Clerk of the
Board of Supervisors and with the County Executive of the County of Santa Clara.
