RESOLUTION NO. 92- 83
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GILROY ESTABLISHING RENEGOTIATED SALARY
SCHEDULES FOR POLICE PERSONNEL
WHEREAS, the city Council does establish salaries for
city officers and employees by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, the. Memorandum of Understanding between the City
and police and police personnel has been renegotiated to call for
a salary increase for police officers as set forth in the attached
"Police Salary Schedule"; and,
WHEREAS, by agreement such increases are to have become
effective October 1, 1992.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. Any previous resolution by this council establishing
the salaries of the police officers affected by this resolution is
hereby superseded to the extent it is inconsistent with this
resolution; and
2. Salary increases for police personnel as set forth
in the attached "Police salary Schedule" are hereby approved and
established to retroactively take effect as of October 1, 1992.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of November, 1992 by
the following vote:

NOTE: Personnel (sworn and non-sworn) who work holidays receive 5.02% of their base
pay monthly in lieu of holidays, on January 1, 1993 increase to 6.00%.
NP classes receive $375.00 per year uniform allowance
SP classes receive $700.00 per year uniform allowance
Sworn personnel
5% Educational Incentive available for an AA/AS Degree or an Intermediate POST
certificate
7.5% Educational Incentive available for a BAIBS Degree (or higher) or an Advanced
POST certificate
5% Bilingual based on chief's approval.
1% equity adjustment effective october, 1, 1992 and an additional 1% effective January
1, 1994 for Supervising officers only.
Non-Sworn Personnel
3.5% Educational Incentive available for thirty (30) college semester units or Basic
POST certificate
5% Educational Incentive available for sixty (60) college semester units or possession
of Intermediate POST certificate
2.5% Bilingual based on City'S needs.
