RESOLUTION NO. 93 - 2
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GILROY STATING ITS INTENT TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE
JURISDICTION OF THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY OPEN-SPACE AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Open-Space Authority Act, Public Resource
Code Sections 35100 et seq, creats the Santa Clara County Open-Space Authority as
of February 1, 1993; and
WHEREAS, said Act provides that each city within the maximum jurisdictional
boundaries of the Authority shall pass a resolution stating its intent to be
included within the Authority's jurisdiction by January 15, 1993; and
WHEREAS, the Act further provides that the failure timely to pass such a
resolution, or formal statement of its intent not to participate, shall exclude
such city from inclusion within the Santa Clara County Open-Space Authority; and
WHEREAS, this council finds that inclusion within the jurisdiction of said
Authority is in the public interest of the residents of the City of Gilroy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Gilroy
that the City of Gilroy hereby states its intent to be included within the
jurisdiction of the Santa Clara County Open-Space Authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a duly executed copy of this
Resolution be forthwith transmitted to the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Santa Clara, and in no event later than January 15, 1993.
