RESOLUTION NO. 93 - 67
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY HONORING
RETIRED COUNCILMEMBER LEONARD A. HALE FROM 1987 TO 1993
WHEREAS, LEONARD A. HALE, served as an exemplary elected member of the
Gilroy City Council for four (4) years, from November 1987 to November 1991; and
WHEREAS, LEONARD A. HALE, responded to the requests of City Councilmembers
and accepted an appointment to fill a vacancy on said Council serving 2 years, from
November 1991 to November 1993; and
WHEREAS, the Community has determined to honor LEONARD A. HALE for his many
contributions; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hale faithfully and energetically served the City as a
Councilman; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure the City of Gilroy grew to a more progressive
City, fiscally sound and well governed; and
WHEREAS, LEONARD A. HALE, played an important role as the City's
representative on the Historical Heritage Committee, South County Cities
Association, Gilroy Downtown Development Corporation and the County General Plan
Review Committee; and
WHEREAS, LEONARD A. HALE, also spent many hours on the Joint Powers Sewer
Advisory Committee (South County Regional Wastewater Treatment Authority) as one of
the Council representatives; and
WHEREAS, LEONARD A. HALE was always willing to volunteer and participate on
other Advisory Committees, on his own time, to perform his public duty, always
interested in the progress and welfare of the City and ready to help therein; and
WHEREAS, as a husband and father, local businessman and as a participant in
service and charitable organizations, he has enriched community life in Gilroy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the members of the Gilroy City Council
deem it fitting and proper that special recognition be made herein of the services
rendered the City of Gilroy by one who faithfully performed public duty and was in
addition a very highly respected citizen interested in the progress and welfare of
the City.
