RESOLUTION NO. 94-85
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GILROY APPOINTING THE ACTING CITY ATTORNEY
AND APPROVING DESIGNATION OF THE DEPUTY CITY
ATTORNEY
WHEREAS, the City council, pursuant to Resolution No. 91-
48 entered into an Agreement For Legal Services dated August 5,
1991 with the law firm of Berliner Cohen ("BC") (formerly known as
Berliner, Cohen & Biagini); and
WHEREAS, Linda A. Callon, who is a partner in Berliner
Cohen, was appointed as the City Attorney/Redevelopment Counsel by
the City Council pursuant to section 804 of the City Charter and
Resolution No. 91-48; and
WHEREAS, Linda A. Callon is temporarily on medical leave;
and
WHEREAS, Andrew L. Faber is a partner in BC, and pursuant
to section 804 of the City he is eligible for appointment as an
Acting City Attorney during the period of Linda A. Callon's medical
leave, having been admitted to practice as an attorney at law
before the Supreme Court of the State of California, and having
been engaged in the practice of law since December, 1974, including
the two years immediately prior to this appointment; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement For Legal Services allows the
designation of Deputy City Attorneys by BC with the concurrence of
the City Council; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen K. siple is a senior attorney in BC,
having been admitted to practice as an attorney at law before the
Supreme Court of the State of California since November, 1979.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council hereby confirms the appointment of
Andrew L. Faber as the Acting City Attorney/Acting Redevelopment
Counsel with full power to act as the City Attorney/Redevelopment
Counsel, effective commencing April 1, 1994 and continuing during
the period of Linda A. Callon's medical leave.

2. The City Council further confirms and approves the
designation of Kathleen K. Siple as a Deputy City Attorney/Deputy
Redevelopment Counsel.
