RESOLUTION NO. 95 - 61
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ESTABLISHING 1995 SALARY
SCHEDULES FOR MISCELLANEOUS, EXEMPT, POLICE AND FIRE PERSONNEL.
WHEREAS, the City COuncil does establish salaries for city officers and
employees by resolution; and
WHEREAS, Memoranda of Understandings have been negotiated with the
following units; Miscellaneous-Two and four-tenths percent (2.4%), Police-Two
percent (2.0%), Fire-Two percent (2.0%), and Exempt-Three percent (3.0%) effective
July 1, 1995, and Police-Two percent (2.0%) and Fire-Two percent (2.0%) effective
January 1, 1996.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the salaries for 1995-1996 as set
forth in the attached schedules, consisting of nine (9) pages, are hereby approved
and established to be effective on July 1, 1995.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of July, 1995 by the following vote;
AYES; COUNCILMEMBERS; KLOECKER, MORALES, ROGERS, VALDEZ and ROWLISON.

Police Records Supervisor, Public Safety Communications Supervisor, Police Records Technicians, and
Public Safety Communicator 1 & II assigned to work holidays receive 5.06% holiday pay.
1,5% Educational Incentive available for 30 college Semester Units in excess of educational
requirements for the job.
3,0% Educational Incentive available for 60 college Semester Units in excess of educational
requirements for the job.
2,5% Bi-lingual based on City's needs,

Fire shift personnel receive 6,37% of base pay in lieu of holidays. Hour1y rate for 40 hour week is based on base
divided by 173.33. Hour1y rate for 56 hour week is based on base divided by 242.48.
3.5% Educational Incentive available for thirty (30) college semester units or 5% Educational Incentive available for
sixty (60) college semester units.
2.5% increase of base pay for possession of the EMT-1 or the EMT-D Certificate,
Unifonn allowance of $670 per year, paid between July 1 and July 15,
Bi-lingual pay of 2.5% of base per Fire Chiefs approval and test.
1 % increase in base pay for employees obtaining through the State Board of Fire Service "Fire Officer Certification",
