RESOLUTION NO. 95- 67
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GILROY NAMING A FUTURE NORTH-SOUTH
COLLECTOR STREET LOCATED PERPENDICULAR TO
MANTELLI DRIVE, NORTH OF ROD KELLEY
SCHOOL,"HIRASAKI STREET"
WHEREAS, on July 26, 1995 the Street Naming Committee
reviewed potential street names for the subject collector street
and voted to recommend to the City Council as their first choice
the name of "Hirasaki Street" in honor of Kiyoshi Hirasaki; and
WHEREAS, at its regular meeting on september 6, 1995, the
recommendation was considered by the City Council along with the
staff report dated July 27, 1995 explaining the significance of the
proposed name.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GILROY that the future north-south collector street located
perpendicular to Mantelli Drive, north of Rod Kelley School, as
shown on the attached map be named "Hirasaki Street", and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Official Map of the City
of Gilroy be amended accordingly.
