RESOLUTION NO. 95-77
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GILROY ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR PARKING
VIOLATIONS
WHEREAS, State law authorizes the city to recover parking
penalties for parking violations, late payment penalties, adminis-
trative fees, and other related charges for parking violations; and
WHEREAS, State law provides in Vehicle Code section
40203.5 that the schedule for parking penalties for parking
violations, late payment penalties, administrative fees, and other
related charges for parking violations shall be established by the
governing body of the jurisdiction where the notice of violation
is to be issued; and
WHEREAS, State law requires the city to include penalties
imposed by the County of Santa Clara for j ail and courthouse
construction, in accordance with Government Code sections 76000 and
76101; and
WHEREAS, State law currently provides for the following
specified fines:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the city Council of
the city of Gilroy establishes the parking penalties for parking
violations, late payment penalties, administrative fees, and other
related charges for parking violations as follows:
section I
The fine for all parking violations not otherwise
provided by State law shall be set at $30.
section II
Each herein specified fine includes those surcharges
required pursuant to Government Code sections 76100 and 76101 for
criminal justice facilities and courthouse construction.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 30th day of October, 1995 by the
following vote:
