RESOLUTION NO. 95-86
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GILROY AUTHORIZING THE POLICE CHIEF TO
DETERMINE WHETHER PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND
NECESSITY ARE MET IN REGARD TO ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGE LICENSING.
WHEREAS the State of California Legislature has amended
sections of the Business and Professions Code relating to the
Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABCl;
AND WHEREAS these amended sections allow local agencies
to make dete~nations of public convenience and necessity
regarding alcoholic beverage licensing;
AND WHEREAS the ABC has requested that the City identify
a City representative to correspond with them regarding the
City's dete~nations;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Gilroy hereby authorizes the Police Chief to make
dete~nations of whether or not public convenience and necessity
are met with regards to proposed alcoholic beverage licenses.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of November, 1995 by
