Resolution 1996-18 .. . I. . . RESOLUTION NO. 96-18 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DESIGNATING A PORTION OF MARTIN STREET AS A ONE-WAY STREET WHEREAS, it has been recommended to the City Council that a portion of Martin Street located to the east of Monterey Street between Monterey Street and the alley adjacent to the railroad tracks should be designated a one-way street; and WHEREAS, City Code Section 15.49 states that streets upon which traffic shall move in only one direction shall be established by resolution of the City Council; and WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council to designate a portion of Martin Street as a one way street, which designation shall become effective after signs indicating the lawful the direction of lawful traffic movement are placed pursuant to City Code Section 15.48; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: Traffic shall move only in the westerly direction upon Martin Street, for the first two hundred and twenty feet (220 feet) east of Monterey Street to the west side of the existing alley, which portion of Martin Street is shown on the attachments at Exhibit A, which one-way designation shall become effective after signs indicating the lawful the direction of lawful traffic movement are placed pursuant to City Code Section 15.48.
