RESOLUTION NO. 97 - 2
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ESTABLISHING 1996 - 1997
SALARY SCHEDULES FOR GILROY POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, the City Council does establish salaries for city officers and
employees by resolution; and
WHEREAS, A Memorandum of Understanding currently has been negotiated between
the City and the bargaining units for Police Personnel at a salary increase of
Three percent, retroactive to July 1, 1996; and Two percent, effective January 1,
1997.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the salaries for 1996 - 1997 for the
Gilroy Police Association personnel as set forth in the attached schedule
consisting of two (2) pages, is hereby approved and established and effective on
July 1, 1996.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of January, 1997, by the following vote:

7.5% Educational incentive available for a BA/BS Degree (or higher) or an Advance POST Certificate.
5% Bi'-Iingual, based on Police Chiefs approval and test.
(Maximum educational total: 7.5%)
NON-SWORN PERSONNEL
3.5% Educational Incentive available for thirty (30) college semester units or Basic POST Certificate.
5% Educational Incentive available for sixty (60) semester units or possession of Intermediate POST Certificate.
2.5% Bi-Iingual, based on Police Chiefs approval and test.
