RESOLUTION NO. 97 - 11
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY SETTING PRIORITIES FOR PROJECTS
ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING FROM THE TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT (TDA) ARTICLE 3
PROGRAMS FUNDS ADMINISTERED BY THE SANTA CLARA VALLEY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY
(VTA) AND THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION (MTC).
WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act (TDA) makes funds available
in the nine-county Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) Region for
Pedestrian/Bicycle projects; and
WHEREAS, The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), is
responsible for compiling a priority list of projects from its Member Agencies; and
WHEREAS, the VTA and MTC require TDA applicants to obtain from the City
Council an Approval of Priorities for fiscal year 1997-1998; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy, a Member Agency, is eligible to receive
funds for qualifying projects if the City Council at its meeting sets priorities
for eligible projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Gilroy hereby sets the priorities for its eligible projects, as shown in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto, and incorporated herein by this reference.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of January, 1997, by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: GILROY, MORALES, ROGERS, ROr~ISON, SPRINGER,
VALDEZ and GAGE.
