RESOLUTION NO, 98-48
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
ESTABLISHING THE 1998 SALARY SCHEDULE FOR THE
GILROY POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, the City Council does establish salaries for city officers and employees by
resolution; and
WHEREAS, A Memorandum of Understanding currently has been negotiated between the
City and the bargaining units for Police Personnel at a salary increase of Three (3%) percent,
retroactive to July 1, 1998,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the salaries for 1998 for the Gilroy Police
Association personnel as set forth in the attached schedule consisting of one (1) page, is hereby
approved and established and effective on July 1, 1998,
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of September, 1998 by the following vote:

SP Classes receive $874.00 per year unifonn allowance.
SP/SOG receive a one time $200.00 unifonn/equipment requirement
SP/CIRT receive a one time $150.00 unifonn/equipment requirement
SWORN PERSONNEL
5% Educational Incentive available for an AA1AS Degree or an Intennediate POST Certificate.
7.5% Educational incentive available for a BAlBS Degree (or higher) or an Advance POST Certificate,
5% Bi-Iingual, based on Police Chiefs approval and test.
(Maximum educational total: 7.5%)
