RESOLUTION NO. 98-58
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GILROY HONORING AND COMMENDING THE
SERVICES OF ROBERT R. LEDESMA, ASSISTANT
FIRE CHIEF/BLES DIVISION MANAGER, UPON HIS
RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, ROBERT R. LEDESMA, Assistant Fire Chief/BLES Division Manager, has
served the City of Gilroy for over 12 years and served in the fire service for 31 years; and
WHEREAS, ROBERT R. LEDESMA, Assistant Fire Chief/BLES Division Manager, has
declared that he will retire from the City of Gilroy on September 8, 1998; and
WHEREAS, during his long period of loyal service, always performed his duties
conscientiously, honestly and with the best interests of the City of Gilroy; and
WHEREAS, the Gilroy City Council desires to take this opportunity to honor ROBERT
R. LEDESMA, Assistant Fire Chief/BLES Division Manager, for his conscientious and faithful
service to the City and the community at large; and
WHEREAS, during his service at the City of Gilroy he consolidated the Hazardous
Materials and Pretreatment Programs; reorganized the Building, Fire Prevention, and Chemical
Control divisions of the Community Development Department; assisted in reorganizing the BLES
Division with the Planning and Engineering Divisions to become the Community Development
Department; and guided the Chemical Control Division through the Certified Unified Program
Agency application process to become one of only three CUP As in Santa Clara County.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Gilroy City Council does hereby
commend and honor ROBERT R. LEDESMA, for his loyal and faithful service to his fellow
citizens, community and country and wish ROBERT R. LEDESMA and his family continued
success and happiness in all future endeavors.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of October, 1998, by the following vote:
