Resolution 1999-86A . . CITY OF GILROY COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT NO.1 (Emergency Medical Services) RESOLUTION NO. 99-86 (Amended) RESOLUTION CALLING SPECIAL ELECTION The City Council of the City of Gilroy resolves: 1. Pursuant to Section 53326 of the California Government Code, this City Council hereby calls an election, to be held on March 7, 2000, to determine whether the City of Gilroy (the "City") shall be authorized to levy a special tax pursuant to the Mello-Roos Community Facilities Act of 1982 (the "Mello-Roos Act"), within the City's Community Facilities District NO.1 (Emergency Medical Services) ("CFD No.1") to pay for emergency medical services, including certain authorized incidental expenses pertaining to CFD NO.1, 2. The measure to be submitted to the voters of within CFD No. 1 shall be read as follows: MEASURE Community Facilities District No. 1 (Emergency Medical Services) Shall the Gilroy City Council be authorized to annually levy a special tax for eight years (to increase 2% per year) within its Community Facilities District No, 1 to fund paramedic services and related expenses as described in its Resolution No. 99-80, according to the tax formula set forth in that resolution; and shall the appropriations limit for 2000-2001 for CFD NO.1 be set at $2,200,0007 YES NO RESOLUTION NO. 99-86 (Amended) - 1 - . . . 3. Pursuant to Part 3 (commencing with Section 10400) of Division 10 of the California Elections Code, this City Council hereby requests the following of the Registrar of Voters ofthe County of Santa Clara (the "Registrar of Voters"): a. that this special etection of the City for CFD NO.1 be consolidated with such other elections as are being held on March 7, 2000; b. ~~~~~~~~ill~~~~~~ special election of the City for CFD No. 1 in accordance with California law and the terms of this resolution, including but not limited to the matters of (1) publication of a notice of election, (2) submission of an impartial of the ballot measure, (3) publication of a notice inviting arguments and submission of arguments for and against the measure, and (4) printing and distribution of election materials; and c. that the Registrar of Voters provide the City Clerk of the City with an official canvass of the results of the election pursuant to Section 10411 of the California Elections Code. 4, The qualified electors for the special election of the City for CFD No. 1 shall be the registered voters living within the City, since the boundary of CFD NO.1 is coterminous with the boundary of the City.
