RESOLUTION NO. 2000-41
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
APPROVING CANDIDATE BICYCLE PROJECTS FOR VALLEY
TRANSPORTATION PLAN 2020
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority is preparing a comprehensive
list of bicycle projects as part of the Bicycle Element of the Valley Transportation Plan 2020; and
WHEREAS, staff is proposing the following list of candidate bicycle projects: 1) Uvas
Creek Class 1 Trail Connection to Gilroy Sports Park Phase I & II; 2) Uvas Creek Class 1 Trail,
Christmas Hill Park upstream to Santa Teresa Blvd., southwest side ofUvas Creek Park Preserve;
3) Class 1 Uvas Creek Trail Interchange from Uvas Creek Trail to Santa Teresa Blvd.; 4) Class 1
Trail, between Christmas Hill Park and Thomas Road Bridge; 5) Tenth Street Bridge Class 1 Trail
lanes and Interchange; 6) Class 1 Trail Ext. Upstream, Santa Teresa Blvd Bridge to Bonfante
Gardens; 7) Santa Teresa Blvd. Class 1 Trail from First Street to Gavilan College; 8) Juan Bautista
National Historic Trail Route Interpretive Signage and Information, 101ICastro Valley Ranch Road
to Santa Teresa Blvd. and north to Fitzgerald Ave.; 9) Gavilan College to Gilroy Sports Park Class
I Trail Corridor Acquisition; 10) Gavilan College to Gilroy Sports park Class 1 Trail
Improvements; II) Gavilan College to Sports Park Class I Trail Bridge; 12) Gilroy High School
Class 1 Bridge Connection to Uvas Class 1 Trails; 13) Buena Vista Avenue Class I Trail Corridor
Acquisition, from Santa Teresa Blvd_ to No Name Uno; 14) FitzgeraldlMasten Class I Trail
Corridor Acquisition, from Santa Teresa Blvd to No Name Uno; IS) Ronan SCVWD Channel
Class 1 Trail, from Church Street to Rogers Lane and Sixth Street; 16) Gilman Road Class 1

Ridge Trail South Bay Cross-Valley Floor Class 1 Trail Route; Trail corridor would start in the
Castro Valley Ranch or Gavilan College with a Staging Area.
