RESOLUTION NO: 2000-61
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ESTABLISHING A STOP
CONTROL FOR THE NORTHBOUND MONTEREY ROAD TURN
LANE TO EASTBOUND LUCHESSA AVENUE IN THE CITY OF
GILROY PURSUANT TO SECTION 15.40 OF THE CITY CODE
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has studied traffic conditions at the intersection of
Monterey Road and Luchessa Avenue and determined that restricted visibility warrants the
installation of a stop control for Northbound Monterey Road to Eastbound Luchessa
Avenue; and
WHEREAS, under Section 15.40 of the Gilroy City Code, the City Administrator is
required to cause stop signs to be erected and maintained at any entrance to an intersection
designated for a required stop by resolution of the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED TIIAT vebicles shall be required to stop
at the Northbound right turn lane to Eastbound Luchessa Avenue and the City
Administrator is hereby directed to instruct the Director of Community Services to install
stop signs at the Northbound right turn lane to Eastbound Luchessa Avenue.
