RESOLUTION NO. 2001-48
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
ESTABLISHING STOP CONTROL AT THE INTERSECTION
OF ALEXANDER STREET AND LEWIS STREET IN THE CITY
OF GILROY PURSUANT TO SECTION 15.40 OF THE CITY CODE
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has studied traffic conditions at the intersection of
Alexander Street and Lewis Street and determined that right-of-way assignment warrants
the installation of stop control for the Alexander Street approach at this intersection; and
WHEREAS, under Section 15.40 of the Gilroy City Code, the City Administrator is
required to cause stop signs to be erected and maintained at any entrance to an intersection
designated for a required stop by resolution of the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT vehicles shall be required to stop
at the Alexander Street approach to the intersection of Alexander Street and Lewis Street
and the City Administrator is hereby directed to instruct the Director of Community
Services to install stop control at the Alexander Street approach to the intersection of
Alexander Street and Lewis Street.
