RESOLUTION NO. 2001-49
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY REAFFIRMING NUMERICAL LIMITS SET FOR
RESIDENTIAL DWELLING UNITS FOR THE YEARS 2002
AND 2003.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 50.63(b) of the Residential Development Ordinance
("RDO"), once each year of the ten-year goal period, the City Council must hold a public hearing
and thereafter adopt a resolution reaffirming, readjusting, and resetting the numerical limits for each
of the subsequent calendar years remaining in the ten-year goal period; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy ("Applicant") submitted application M 01-09 requesting
approval to set those numerical limits; and
WHEREAS, approval of this project is categorically exempt from environmental review
under the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA"), pursuant to Article 18, Statutory
Exemptions, CEQA Guideline 15262, exempting feasibility and planning studies; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing at its regularly scheduled
meeting on July 16, 2001, at which time it considered the five- and ten-year housing goals, the
number of units having received building permits under assigned build-out schedules, the number
of units for which build-out schedules have been assigned and the number of units previously
determined to be exempt from the RDO under Section 50.63(b), and upon such consideration,
amended the numerical limits for the subsequent calendar years remaining in the ten-year goal
period, namely, for years 2002 and 2003.
WHEREAS, the location and custodian of the documents or other materials which
constitute record of proceedings upon which this project approval is based is the office ofthe City
Clerk.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Gilroy
hereby reaffirms and resets the numerical limits for the year 2002 at 232 units, and for the year 2003
at 243 units.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of August, 2001 by the following vote:
