RESOLUTION NO, 2003-74
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
ESTABLISHING THE JULY 1, 2003; JANUARY 1, 2004; AND
JULY 1, 2004 SALARY SCHEDULES FOR THE FIREFIGHTERS,
LOCAL 2805 EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the City Council does establish salaries for city officers and employees by
resolution; and
WHEREAS, A Memorandum of Understanding currently has been negotiated between the
City and the bargaining unit for Fire Personnel with the following salary increases:
July 1, 2003, 3% salary increase (retroactive)
January 1,2004,2% salary increase
July 1,2004, 3% salary increase
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the salaries effective for the time period
July 1, 2003 - December 31,2004 for the Firefighters, Local 2805 personnel as set forth in the
attached schedule consisting ofthree (3) pages, is hereby approved and established with the
effective dates noted above.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of November, 2003 by the following vote:

Fire shift personnel receive 6.6% of base pay in lieu of holidays, Hourly rate for 40 hour week is based
on base divided by 173.33, Hourly rate for 56 hour week is based on base divided by 242,48.
Unifonn allowance of$670 per year, paid between July 1 and July 15,
Bilingual pay of 4,0% of base per Fire Chiefs approval and test.
Range F30 is 5% below Range F31 and does not require 60 college semester units,
Paramedic pay is 11 % of base.
Support Medic pay is 6% of base.
