RESOLUTION NO. 2006-70
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
ESTABLISHING THE JANUARY 1,2005, JULY 1,2005, JULY 1,2006
AND JULY 1,2007 SALARY SCHEDULES FOR THE IAFF, LOCAL
2805 FIRE PERSONNEL
WHEREAS, the City Council does establish salaries for city officers and employees by
resolution; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the salaries effective January 1, 2005 for
the IAFF, Local 2805 Fire personnel as set forth in the attached salary schedule consisting of one
(1) page is hereby approved and established with a three (3%) percent increase effective on
January 1, 2005. In addition, the salaries effective July 1, 2005 for the IAFF, Local 2805 Fire
personnel as set forth in the attached salary schedule consisting of one (1) page is hereby
approved and established with a two (2%) percent increase effective July 1,2005. In addition,
the salaries effective July 1, 2006 for the IAFF, Local 2805 Fire personnel as set forth in the
attached salary schedule consisting of one (1) page is hereby approved and established with a two
(2%) percent increase effective July 1, 2006. In addition, the salaries effective July 1, 2007 for
the IAFF, Local 2805 Fire personnel as set forth in the attached salary schedule consisting of one
(1) page is hereby approved and established with a two (3%) percent increase effective July 1,
2007. All of the above referenced salary tables are in accordance with the arbitration decision
issued by Arbitrator John Kagel in his decision dated September 8, 2006 which was received by
the City of Gilroy on September 12, 2006.

Fire shift personnel receive 6.6% of base pay in lieu of holidays. Hourly rate for 40 hour week is calculated
on base divided by 173.33. Hourly rate for 56 hour week is calculated on base divided by 242.48.
Unifonn allowance of $670 per year, paid between July 1 and July 15.
Bilingual pay of 4.0% of base per Fire Chief's approval and test.
Range F30 is 5% below Range F31 and does not require 60 college semester units.
Paramedic pay is 11 % of base.
Support Medic pay is 6% of base.
