RESOLUTION NO. 2009-09
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY IN SUPPORT OF
THE GILROY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT "CHARACTER COUNTS" PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Gilroy Unified School District has adopted the distinguished "Character
Counts" program instilling the "Six Pillars of Character" throughout the school district, and
WHEREAS, this program instills the values of Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility,
Fairness, Caring and Citizenship in the curriculum and activities of several of the schools within
the district, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Gilroy is in support of the wonderful
program and would like to give your support to this program in our local schools, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Gilroy would like to engage in this program
of ensuring integrity while building and sustaining ethical culture in our own organization.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that City of Gilroy recognizes the values
and importance of the Gilroy Unified School District "Character Counts" Program and adopts
the "Six Pillars of Character" within our City organization.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of April, 2009, by the following vote:

attached Resolution No. 2009-09 is an original resolution, or true and correct copy of a city
resolution, duly adopted by the Council of the City of Gilroy at a regular meeting of said Council
