RESOLUTION NO. 2009-15
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY SETTING
FORTH PERMISSIBLE GAMES AUTHORIZED FOR PLAY IN CARDROOMS
PURSUANT TO GILROY MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 16.6-1, ET SEQ
WHEREAS, the Cardroom Ordinance, City of Gilroy City Code Section 16.6-1, et. seq.
authorizes the City Council to adopt by resolution a list of permissible games that cardrooms are
permitted to can allow to be played on their premises under the Cardroom Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, no game may be played in any cardroom unless it is listed as a permissible
game; and
WHEREAS, each cardroom permittee shall file with the Chief of Police a set of
proposed rules on how each game is to be played and which rules will be reviewed and revised,
rejected or approved by the Chief of Police, and
WHEREAS, the permittee shall allow the playing of permissible games only in strict
conformity with rules that are approved by the Chief of Police; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2000-10 in February of2000
listing permissible games within the City pursuant to the Cardroom Ordinance, City Code
Section 16.6-1 et seq.; and
WHEREAS, application has been made, and approved by the Chief of Police to permit
one additional game titled No Bust Blackjack; and
WHEREAS, City Code Section 16.6-1 (a) (8) allows for the amendment of permitted
games by Resolution from time to time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby determines
that the following games are permissible games pursuant to the Cardroom Ordinance, Gilroy
City Code Section 16.6-1, et seq.:

2. Stud Hi
3. Hi Draw Poker
4. Hold 'Em Poker
5. Pan (Panguingue)
6. Razz (Seven Stud/Lo Poker)
7. Draw Poker - Jack's Back
8. No Bust Blackjack
