RESOLUTION NO. 2010-36
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY ESTABLISHING THE SALARY SCHEDULES FOR THE
FIRE, IAFF, LOCAL 2805 EMPLOYEES EFFECTIVE JULY 1,2010-
JUNE 30, 2013
WHEREAS, the City Council establishes salaries for city employees by resolution; and
WHEREAS, A Memorandum of Understanding and Supplemental Agreement has been
negotiated between the City and the Firefighters Local 2805, IAFF Fire Unit with the following
salary changes:
. Effective July 1,2010 - Elimination of Furlough Program, therefore,
reinstate 4.94% temporary salary reduction.
. Eliminate negotiated salary increases (1.5% effective July 1,2010; ; 1.5%
effective January 1,2011; 1.5% effective July 1,2011) and
WHEREAS, the current Memorandum of Understanding provides for a 0.5% salary
increase on the following remaining dates for the classifications of Fire Engineer and Fire
Captain only: July 1,2010; January 1,2011; and July 1,2011.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the salaries effective for the time
period July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2013 for the Fire, IAFF, Local 2805 personnel as set forth in the
attached schedule consisting of three (3) pages, incorporated herein and made a part hereof, is
hereby approved and established with the effective dates noted above.

Fire shift personnel receive 2.27% FLSA overtime calculated on total compensation.
Fire shift personnel receive 6.6% of base pay in lieu of holidays. Hourly rate for 40 hour week is
calculated on base divided by 173.33. Hourly rate for 56 hour week is calculated on base divided by
242.48.
Uniform allowance of $670 per year suspended for FY 10-11.
Bilingual pay of 4.0% of base per Fire Chief's approval and test.
Range F30 is 5% below Range F31 and does not require 60 college semester units.
Paramedic pay is 11 % of base.
Support Medic pay is 6% of base.
