A RESOULUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY RELATING TO EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
AND FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY
ADMINISTERED GRANT PROGRAMS
WHEREAS, the Cities of Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Milpitas, Monte
Sereno, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Jose, Santa Clara, Saratoga, Sunnyvale, the
Towns of Los Gatos, Los Altos Hills, and the County of Santa Clara, are parties to the 1994
Operational Area Interim Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy does, from time to time, receive funding from various
State Emergency Management Agency and Federal Department of Homeland Security grant
programs; and
WHEREAS, Santa Clara County, as an intermediary for these State and Federal agencies
does request a Certified Resolution of Signature Authority; and
WHEREAS, the City Administrator of the City of Gilroy also serves as the Director of
Emergency Services for the city.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Gilroy
authorizes the City Administrator to execute and deliver emergency management and homeland
security administered grant agreement(s) for and on behalf of the City of Gilroy as the authorized
agent of the City in the area of local, state and federal emergency management grant matters.
