A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION AND THE PROJECT AGREEmeNT FOR
HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANT FUNDS FOR STRAND THEATRE ACQUISITION
PROJECT FROM THE CALIFORNIA PARK AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES ACT OF
1984.

OF THE CITY OF GILROY
RESOLVED, by the Community Development Agency of the City of
Gilroy, California, that
~EREAS, the Legislature under the California Park and Recrea-
tional Act of 1984, has authorized the establishment of a Historic Pre-
servation Grant Program, providing matching funds to the political sub-
divisions of the State for historic preservation projects; and
~EREAS, the California Office of Historic Preservation in the
Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for the administra-
tion of the program within the State, setting up necessary rules and
procedures governing application by local agencies under the program;
and
K~EREAS, said adopted procedures established by the Department
of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution
the approval of applications and the availability of local matching
funds prior to submission of said applications to the State.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS DETERMINED AND ORDERED as follows:
1. Approves the filing of an application for the Historic
Preservation Grant assistance for project; and

Appoints the City Administrator or his authorized deputy
as agent of the City of Gilroy to coordinate, process,
and execute all contracts, agreements, amendments and
ancillary documents within the scope of the attached
application; and
Agrees that all required local matching funds will be pro-
vided for the project.
Introduced at the meeting of the Community Development Agency
of the City of Gilroy held on 17th day of December, 1984, by Director
Albert who moved its adoption and passage, which motion was carried after
being duly seconded, and passed by the following vote:
