THE ~~YOR AND CO~MON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
DO, ORDAI N AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. For the purpose of setting forth proper
regulations for the protection of Public Health, and the examin-
ation, registration, licensing and bonding of persons engaged
in the business of plumbing, or laboring at the trade of plumb-
ing; requiring a permit for the installation or alteration of
plumbing and drainage systems; creating the office of plumbing
inspector and a Board of Plumber Examiners, and prescribing their
duties; oefining certain terms; establishing minimum regulations
for the installation, alteration or repair of phunbing and drain-
age systems and the inspection thereof; providing penalties for
its violation and repealing conflicting ordinances, the Standard
Plumbing Code, published by the Western Plumbing & Heating Journal,
drafted and sponsored by the Pacific Coast Plumbing Inspectors
Association, 19411 is hereby adopted; save and excepting that
SECTIONS 4, 5, 17, 182 and 186 are not a part ~f this ordinance,

and are not adopted under or pursuant to the terms of this
ordinance.
SECTION 2. The Schedule of Fees set forth in Section
15 of said Standard Plumbing Code shall be as follows:

SECTION 3. Wherever in said Standard Plumbing Code,
a blank appears after the words "City of", such blank shall be
deemed and held to contain the word, Gilroy~ and for all purposes
said Standard Plumbing Code shall be deemed and held to refer
to the City of Gilroy; and to the State of california, where a
blank follows the words "State of".

SECTION 4. Before any Master Plumber's License shall
the applicant therefor shall pay to the City of Gilroy,
sum of One Hundred and nO/100 ($100.00) Dollars in advance;
and thereafter shall pay to said City, the sum of Ten and no/l00
($10.00) Dollars for each annual renewal thereof, in advance.

SECTION;~.All Master Plumber's Licenses shall expire
on the 31st day of December of each year, unless sooner revoked.
SECTION 6. The Master Plumber's Bond referred to
in Section 8 of said Standard Plumbing Code shall be in the
amount of One Thousand and nO/100 ($1,000.00) Dollars.

be three in number and shall each serve for three years; and
the blank spaces contained in said Section 22 shall each be
deemed to contain the fisure 3.
SECTION 8. Any person, firm, partnership, or
corporation violating any of' the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than One
Hundred ($100.00) Dollars or by imprisonment in the City
Jail for a period of not more than thirty (30) days, or by
both such fine and imprisonment. Each day or fraction thereof

any person, firm, partnership, or corporation shall violate
any of the provisions hereof shall be considered separate and
distinct offenses.
SECTION 9. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval.
