AN ORDINANCE AMElnDING ORDINANCE NO. 422 OF THE CITY
OF GILROY ~TI'I'LED: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
GILROY PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT WITHIN SAID
CITY OF CERTAIN DISTRICTS WITHIN WHICH THE CLASSES
OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES AND THE USES THEREOF
ARE LIMITED AND IN WHICH CERTAIN YARDS AND OTHER
OPEN SPACES ARE REQUIRED AND CERTAIN OTHER REGULA-
TIONS ARE APPLIED; DEFINING THE TERMS USED HEREIN;
PROVIDING FOR THE GRANTING OF ADJUST~rnNTS IN THE
APPLICATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF; PRE-
SCRIBING THE PROCEDURE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION AND
AMENDMENT HEREOF; AND PRESCRIPING PENALTIES WR
ANY VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF."
The Common Council of the City of Gilroy do ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 422 of the City of Gilroy,
generally called and known as the "Zoning Ordinance" of
said City is hereby amended, upon recommendation of the
Gilroy City Planning Commission, in the following parti-
culars, to wit:
That the. Qoundaries: of oZone . !',E~ of said City be cl).anged

(a) That the following described premises be changed
from Zone "E" to Zone "A" to-wit:
All that certain district bounded on the North by
the South line of Sixth Street West by the West .
corporate limit line of the City of Gilroy, South
by the North line of Seventh Street projec~ed
westerly to the West oorporate limit line of the
City of Gilroy, East by the West line of Dowdy
Street;
(b) That the following described district of said
City of Gilroy be changed from Zone "E" to Zone "B".
Commencing at a point in the South line of Seventh
Street 150 feet West of the West line of Hanna Street,

thence West along the South line of Seventh Street
projected westerly to the West corporate limit line of
the City of Gilroy, thence South along the West corpo-
rate limit line of the City of Gilroy to the North
line of Ninth Street projected westerly to the West
corporate limit line of the City of Gilroy, thence East
along the projected North line of Ninth Street and the
North line of Ninth Street to the West line of Hanna
Street, thence North along the'West line of Hanna
Street to the South line of Eighth Street, thence West
along the South line of Eighth Street 150 feet, more or
less, thence North to the South line of Seventh Street
and ~he point of beginning;
SECTION 2. That the boundries of Zone "A" and Zone "B"
be changed in accordance with the foregoing, and that said
Zone "An be further changed by adding thereto the following
described district of said City of Gilroy.
Commencing at a point in the East line of Miller
Avenue 190 feet Southwest of the corner of Hecker
Pass Road and Miller Avenue, thence Southwest along
the East line of Miller Avenue to the South line of
Third Street, thence East along the South line of
Third Street to the West line of Prince valle Street,
thence Northwest along the West line of Princevalle
Street to a point 150 feet Southeast of Hecker Pass
Road, thence West 150 feet, more or less, to the
East line of Miller Avenue and the point of beginning.
SECTION 3. That the boundry of Zone "Bit be further ,
changed by adding thereto and including therein the following
described district of the City of Gilroy, to-wit:
Commencint at the Southwest corner of Hecker
Pass Road and Miller Avenue, thence Southwest
190 feet, thence Northeast l50 feet, more or
less, thence Northwest l50 feet, thence West
84.64 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 4. That the map showing the boundries and
districts of the various zones as established by the Zoning
Ordinance of the said City be made to conform to the changes
herein set forth.

1948, by the following votes:
